“A small amount of quality training can facilitate an easy and successful transition to Office 2007/2010″

Microsoft recently released the new Office 2010 and now that I’ve been working with this latest version I see the bigger picture in this development. Based upon my experience I offer my perspective and services.

There are some impressive new features in both Office 2007 and now 2010. These new features along with the new user interface (ribbon) make for an improved user experience with easy to use commands that increase productivity and produce higher quality end products.

Many South Florida organizations have not upgraded from Office 2003 and now look to make one considerable switch to Office 2010.  Because of the major differences it will be necessary for users to become acquainted with the new ribbon, the new navigation system, the new features, and possibly even a new operating system (Windows 7). It can be a disorienting and time consuming experience as users struggle to find familiar commands and attempt to break old habits. The good news is that it’s worth the switch to become more proficient and productive.

Organizations that have already upgraded to Office 2007 may, or may not, upgrade again to Office 2010.  The biggest incentive to upgrade to 2010 is the collaboration features and having an application across PC, phone and browser so that mobility is greatly enhanced.  Additionally there are several other new features in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and particularly Outlook 2010.

I have developed customized training classes on transitioning to Office 2007/2010.  These classes improve ongoing productivity and create better end products while reducing the productivity loss during the upgrades. A typical training session would include instruction on the new user interface and the specific new features in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook 2010.

Whether your organization has already upgraded or is still contemplating the switch, you will find the enclosed Office 2010 Quick Reference Card informational as it highlights the new features common to all of the Office products.

A small amount of quality training can facilitate an easy and successful transition to Office 2007/2010. If you need additional information regarding the transition or the training classes, please contact me.
